Independence Day

As I sat in church today on the first day of July with the big day of July 4th coming up & the nation is going to celebrate Independence Day. Yet I’m on the great day of Sunday celebrating the Lord today in his house yet celebrate Him every day. America’s Independence Day drafted on a piece of paper as it’s congress voted to free itself from the control of Great Britain. When one country decided it would not be enslaved to another. As I sit in church thinking about independence two things come into my mind… in the movie Independence Day the president says “Today we declare our independence” & the other thought is that Jesus died on that cross for our sins I confess my sin & declare Jesus Christ my savior He has set me free from sin. There is a bible verse 1 Corinthians 6:12 “Some of you say “ I have the right to do anything” but not everything is helpful. Again some of you say “I have the right to do anything but will not be controlled by anything” You know this is saying we have a freedom ‘independece’ to do anything here on earth but do not be enslave to it. We become enslave to sin and drugs. We should not let the bottle or pipe become our master. Too many become slaves to adultery & Cigarillos. It is time for these people along with all to become enslave to the word of God & we walk in true faith. Let us stand & say “ Today I declare my independence of sin & serve God.

When you free yourself of sin the scene will be greater than any fireworks.
